Online-Only Auction Properties
Unlike a live auction where bidders attend in person or via the internet at a specified time, these online auctions run for a period of time and bidding is done privately via mobile app, computer, or phone call. For example, in a timed online-only auction, bidding might open at noon on a Friday and continue until noon the following Thursday.
During a timed online-only auction, bids are updated in real time and bidders are notified with an alert if someone has outbid them. An advantage of timed online-only auctions is that bidders can take more time to calculate their bid with less pressure than having to make snap decisions at a live auction.
This format works well for single parcels or multiple parcels that sell individually, and each auction still carries either a reserve or no reserve. Properties will be advertised and marketed the same as a traditional live auction.
