The five-year $500 billion Farm Billi was defeated 234-195 in the House of Representatives on June 20, 2013. The Senate passed its own version of the bill some 10 days earlier, with 66-27 vote. What happens now? The July 4th break and August recess are obstacles that could delay further discussion about the Farm Bill. The carryover 2008 Farm Bill is set to expire on September 30. If that happens, we can expect extreme price increases on many food and ag byproducts.
